Very welcoming & tasty, each time! (We've sat at the bar & at the tables.) The fish is fresh & the presentation has always been nice. They even took special care to give all the moms flowers for Mothers' Day today. (I'm not a mother, but I still appreciate the sentiment.)

Super bummed. We ordered take out and for $45 got a tiny portion of sushi roll, minuscule plain steamed vegetables and a not impressive main entree. The Real Crab Roll was okay, but warm and the sushi rice was on the hard side. We also ordered a Mango Tango roll and were super excited since it's gluten free and boasts rice cracker bits! The roll barely had any spicy mayo and we didn't detect a single rice cracker bit among the tiny portion we were given. We were really hoping for a crunch! We also ordered a side of steamed veggies and were given 4 florets of broccoli, 3 thinly sliced bits of carrot, a few errant cabbage and onion slices, 3 thinly sliced bits of squash, 4 one-inch sections of asparagus stalk and 2 snap peas. All steamed to mushy consistency. My husband ordered the "large plate" Onion Spicy Pork entree and was underwhelmed. The brown rice upgrade was a very odd consistency of brown glue molded into a shape that I cannot even describe. It was almost as if it was supposed to be used in a roll, but then discarded and folded into our Styrofoam container. Literally folded. Odd. The pork was not that great and the highlight of the side salad was the one blueberry found under the lettuce. To say we were massively disappointed is an understatement. Maybe my expectations were too high going in. The menu looks wonderful.

If you like sushi, this is a great spot. The ambience is great for a date night or fun girls/guys night out. The food is so good and the service is great. I highly recommend it.

With three to four menu pages of "Special Rolls", Wasabi Bay has some fun and unique sushi roll flavors! They did have the more generic types (ex. Seattle roll, spider roll, etc.), but I recommend that you try a few of their more adventurous flavors! :) Our group went with the: -Shrimp yakitori - comes with 2 skewers of shrimp on a bed of greens -Half order of the Unagi Heaven Roll (4 pieces) - the macadamia nuts add a interesting taste and texture to the roll; first time trying sushi with nuts! -Half order of the Fire House Roll (4 pieces) - spicy! Highly recommend for visitors who enjoy a nice kick to their sushi roll :) -Nawasaki Jjam Bbong - spicy seafood soup, this dish is LARGE and can easily be shared. Warning, the broth is a bit on the spicier end, so I wouldn't recommend for those with a low spice tolerance -Tempura ice cream - Much sweeter than I expected! The staff is super friendly and the restaurant was clean and quiet. Although dishes are a bit on the pricier side, I think Wasabi Bay is a great little sushi shop. :)

Great, quiet spot for lunch. Their happy hour all day, every day has some good options. They have one of the largest, most diverse roll menus I've seen lately and I like how it's organized by type so I don't have to dig through fried rolls mixed in to find what I want!

I ordered the Las Vegas roll here ($8). Pricing here seems reasonable.... I always ask for a side of eel sauce with my roll and I was a bit disappointed with the eel sauce, it seemed more salty than expected...... the vegas roll was decent but not the best I've tasted.... atmosphere is older and not updated.... music was the same.....Server was nice.... the food filled my tummy but I probably wouldn't be back....

We stopped by Wasabi Bay because of a groupon deal, and it was a good find! Our table got a variety of dishes, so I got to sample several items! The waitress brought out a small dish of edamame, which was a nice beginning to the meal. The miso soup was rich and warm, and slightly better than most I've had. I tried the raspberry teriyaki chicken and salmon, and both were delightful. They had a smoky grilled flavor, and the sauce was sweet, but not overpowering with raspberries. One odd touch was the dried cranberries on both; it was actually a nice addition to the meat! We also got the spider fantasy roll and the firehouse roll. The fish was fresh and the toppings were tasty. When we walked out, I glanced at the "All day happy hour" menu. I think this is a good reason to come back!

SO disappointed. Took 20 minutes for a server to even come over for our order! Chaotic menu with lots of options (I do like the in: & out: style of explanation on the menu). We ordered a basic roll, a tempura roll, a baked roll & a crunchy roll. They were all terrible. Quality of seafood was sub-par & "fishy" at times. The tempura roll was deep-fried like a jalapeno popper (super crunchy, very greasy) instead of classic tempura. The baked roll had a small fire burning on the plate (intentionally as decoration) & the roll was still on tin foil. Prices seemed higher than other places - with the average roll $12-$13 & sake prices seemed higher. Their "all day happy hour" is a rip. Essentially it's two lists & you pick an option from each list which saves you about $3. We won't return esp with all the other sushi options in Mill Creek. CONS: Slow service, bad prices, bad quality, tasteless PROS: Groupon

Never had such bad experience in Japanese restaurant before. I ordered fish and got a small plate of fish face. Can you imagine a small fish face charge about 11 dollars? It smells very bad and totally inedible. The table next to me was also pissed off for waiting about 1 hour having nothing on the table. What a mess!

This place used to be so good and all my friends would come here too. Since they changed management/owner, it has been nothing but a disappointment. After several attempts of seeing if it was just a fluke, I have came to a conclusion that Wasabi Bay is just not worth going to. I see all the regulars and some of the staff has moved on to Sushi Zen, just down the street. I thought it was pretty bad at the Bay when I could hear the drunken sushi chef yelling at the only waitress in the restaurant. It's so sad that a place that was once the best of the best has degraded to the worst of the worst.

I am baffled by the glowing reviews. This is some of the worst sushi I've ever had. The rice in the sushi was overcooked and beyond sticky... mushy. I started with some sake nigiri and immediately wished I hadn't ordered so much food up front. The cuts of fish were pretty poor. There were strips of gray on the edge of each piece, which I assumed was just fat (which is normally tasty!) but the taste was really off and it was very rubbery. I really wished I could spit it out. Next, my shiitake sushi was.... super rubbery and marinated in some awful tasting sauce. I did spit that out. The rest of my meal was just bland. Not bad, but not good. I eat a lot of sushi and have had the pleasure of eating at some great restaurants, so while I'm tough to really impress, I also had a realistic idea of what a strip mall sushi place would offer, and even by that standard I was sorely disappointed. On the upside, it didn't make me sick, which was a real concern I had when eating. The only highlight was the ume shiso rolls, something I doubt most people would order. The ume paste they used was great. Like... I won't lie, I will probably come back here and order take out of ONLY the ume shiso rolls, which is the reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of -213435472437 stars. Otherwise, this place is to be avoided.

Okay okay okay. Whoever is the sushi chef on Saturday nights is awesome. I always get take out that my husband picks up so I can't say thank you enough (I called in once) but "Thank You!" since moving sushi takeout night to Saturday, my chirashi has been consistently good. Nicely plated (or in this case, takeout styrofoam boxed?), arranged and packed, the variety is great with interesting cuts of fish and other sea creatures (giant scallop, octopus). I've been a happy clam (hehe) since.

  • Ashley H.

I've been here twice and both times it was great! I love their $12 combos! The Seattle rolls and spicy tuna rolls are delicious. My husband got a big combo with all sorts of different stuff and he loved it. He's not really a big sushi lover either so that's saying a lot ;) This will probably be my go to place (for now) when I'm craving sushi!

  • Clorae B.

The food is pretty good and prices are fairly priced. If they did not have such an amazing spicy tiny roll (my favorite) and gyoza, and the hours are open until 10, I wouldn't come here as much as I do. The service is pretty bad... I've been here before, as a regular, and had other people served before I was. I was clearly here first but I was ignored. There wasn't an apology. Again. Sitting here now, and no one has been by to see if we want to order more.

I can't believe I hadn't been here before. I always pass it but with all of the newer, nicer looking restaurants in Mill Creek Town Center, this one always gets overlooked. This restaurant is located next to where the old Zen Garden was in a shoddy little strip mall. You can't miss it with the bright green sign out front. They have a happy hour during the week that you can order two items for $12. I was skeptical at first because I was anticipating really small portions but I was surprisingly stuffed after the two. The special came with miso soup which was included in the $12 price. Then, I had the veggie/tofu tempura roll and the chicken yakisoba. I would definitely order both again. My friend ended up ordering two rolls and then ordered a third but couldn't finish it. The service was nice, the place was clean. I will definitely be back. It is probably some of the better sushi available in the area.

Wasabi Bay has a lot of sentimental value for me since it is where my love and I had our first date. This place has gotten a lot better than what it used to be, I'm not sure if they changed owners through the years but I'm a fan. We come here maybe twice a year and the food is pretty solid. They have a nice assortment of rolls and many unique hot dishes. The asparagus and crab soup is tasty and I love the spider roll here. Do not get shumai, it's not that good. It taste like bad shumai you get in the freezer section. I love the banana bread pudding dessert here, it's a symphony of flavors and a complete twist on what you would expect. The service here is warm and friendly. The space is rather small so it gets pretty crowded when it's busy. Wasabi Bay isn't the best sushi I've ever had in my life but it's a great place to go for some tasty rolls and unique small plates. They also have a nice little happy hour but don't forget dessert.

I never been there till I got this groupon, and I will not go back no matter what. Food: it was frozen fish, nothing was fresh. The rice is over cooked and it was as hard as a BB Ball. The server said that the Soy Sauce was Sodium free but it wasn't. Service: it was not bad, slow but not bad. There was only two tables, one server and at least 3-5 min to get a cup of water be filled. over all I would not recommend this place and I would rather go to the Mill Creek Town Center and eat sushi there.

    (1)
  • Donna S.

We went there on the groupon and after reading the negative reviews were a bit apprehensive. The waitstaff was super helpful and attentive. We tried the Seahawk roll, house special with yellow tail, the firehouse roll, and the sake sampler. All were reasonably priced unless you eat off a conveyer belt. The plating was excellent as was the speed of its delivery. The sake sampler was fun! I love trying different things and this was an interesting choice to kick things up a notch during dinner. Groupon or not, we will be back.

Was told when we walked in it would be 45 mins because no one was cleaning tables. A lady next to us was chewing the guy out because the took an hour and then wasn't greated after sitting there for 25 mins. So ya we will never come back and was very very bad business

when i want Sushi, this is right down the street from me and i love this place!!! The owner is always friendly, the staff always knows me and calls me by name (every time) and the food here is top notch and well worth your visit! The price is a little higher than others but when you try the food, you will understand why...i need not say more, let the food speak for itself! ;) one word.."YUM"!!!!!

Once again it was too long since my last visit(sounds like the confessional) and I had to have some Sushi and Sake, this time my Chef was Steve, and e is a true artist, each piece was beautifully executed, and tasted wonderful, I never get tired of watching a Master at work, I just hope I can afford to go more often, such a treat.

I don't miss living in the international district after finding this place! We had a feast tonight and our service was great. I am so sorry to the kitchen since we were the last people there but we really loved everything and will be back for sure! The only complaint would be the bathrooms my wife said were impossible to find and very far away (not really anything they can change though) We got a couple things but our favorite was the BBQ short ribs. A little pricey but a very generous portion and very tender and flavorful, sizzling on a cast iron skillet. The katsu pork was good but the breading kept a slipping off the meat. Oh and the udon soup we got was huge and the noodles were great! Other pros: clean, nice menus with pictures, linens, ambiance all around was good, chef and server were friendly and professional. Way to represent mill creek!

  • Angela L.

I've been here multiple times with and without a Groupon deal. Either way, the staff is friendly and offer prompt service. The food and sushi is consistently fresh and always delicious with nice presentation. I especially enjoy their kenji roll and tempura udon.

My friends had dinner plans there, and I ended up joining them last minute. I love sushi and am super glad I decided to check this place out. What did I love? The nigiri, the sashimi, the rolls, the super long "trays" that most of the food was served on, and the sake (specifically the sake sampler). Negatives - The bathroom is apparently far away. I never made the journey myself, but several others did and the girls weren't happy about the long path. - Only the sushi combo comes with miso soup. I go out for sushi a lot, and most places I've been to include miso soup and a super simple salad with all of the combination dinners. Those items probably don't cost much and I think they add a lot to the meal, so I was sad that they weren't included. All in all, a good place to enjoy a sushi dinner. I'll probably go back if I find myself in the area. :)

From the outside, I admit, it looked like any old teriyaki joint but when we went inside, it was completely different and was nice, big, and clean! We ordered tons of sushi for our group of 6 and the coolest part of the whole experience was that all of the sushi came out on one super-long sushi geta (wooden sushi plate). Ours was about 4 ft long and had rows of sushi on it! Pros: + The rolls were creative and had nice presentation. + The uni was fresh- it was 'standing' nicely and had a sweet taste (not aburakusai- not diesel-oil-like taste). + The neta (fish on nigiri sushi) was nicely proportioned as well. + Good service, they brought out tea after we were done so that we could continue our conversation. Cons: + Bathroom is kind of far. + Compared to most sushi restaurants in Seattle, coming out to Mill Creek for such is a bit far. Overall, great experience, I'm looking forward to bringing my friends here and being shocked once again when the sushi comes out on the long geta wooden platter again!

I wanted to not review this place considering its my new favorite place and I didn't want it to be so crowded. However I must give credit where its due. Mind you this is after 4 visits so far so its not off of a one time visit. So far I have tried four different rolls with the white rice cabbage and black rice sushi options. And three are and will be my go to. You can't go wrong with your choices even the ahi and tempura are awesome and lastly the waitress is so warm and such a sweetheart so be nice and tip her a little extra it's hard to come by these days!

Love this place because it's open later than most places. The Spicy Tuna Roll is the best I've ever had and has never made me sick. It would be 5 stars, except the service is horrible. I've go regularly, and I have had to pointlessly wait because the waitress was not paying attention.

  • Monica F.

We are regulars here, have probably been over 20 times, and have never had a poor experience. We usually order off of the "All Day Happy Hour" menu that sits on the table, and are very pleased with the sushi as well as the prices. We've recently started to try a few of the rolls out of the main menu, and have also been very pleased, particularly with all of the rolls containing their spicy tuna! Tried other places in the area, including ones with higher ratings on Yelp, but nothing has compared. It's a small restaurant, usually with only one or two waiters/waitresses working, so while service isn't awfully slow, don't plan to sit down and have a meal if you are in a rush and have less than an hour (like most restaurants). If you ARE in a rush, they do take-out, and that has become a favorite on lazy Saturdays when we have friends over. Check this place out!

I went wasabi bay last sunday with my bf, we ordered chirashi sushi, fire house roll and sex in the city. We waited 20min to get our drinks, it tooks over 30min to get our appitizer. There was 4 other tables other than us. Rolls taste good but it was too small portion for it and chirashi sushi was horrible. Im a sushi lover person, i never had chirashi sushi like that before. It was $20, with rice and 5 different kinds of sashimi, some of fish was frozen and very small portion for that price.

Apparently with a change in management came a drastic reduction in the quality of the food served. I don't remember what we ordered, but i do remember it was DRENCHED in sauces, and it totally ruined the rolls. The nigiri wasn't as good as i remember, and the sashimi was a bit lacking as well. Plenty of places to go that have better sushi. For instance, N'joy is proximal and is a much better value.

The service tonight was terrible. We waited at our table for 30 minutes before anyone came to take even a drink order. I appreciated that the waiter checked to make sure our food was okay but he seemed to be missing the execution of multitasking. That and they severely needed another server with some previous experience. The food was good, perhaps at a warm enough temperature to be worrisome but still tasted good. The rolls were fun but drowning in sauce. I highly recommend the tuna tower! We really liked the food on the previous visit and tonight but the service was bad enough that we won't be going back.

New HH menu recently added. Happy hour all day, any day, anytime. Literally! For $12 you pick a roll, and an appetizer off the menu. No worries, there's tons of good stuff of the HH menu! Gotta love it! I tried the Seattle Roll and the Lion Roll which both were equally good and beautifully presented. The raw fish was fresh and melted in our mouths. We were pretty hungry after a long day at work, so thankfully the complimentary warm edamame with flecks of rock salt kept coming! Our server was a bit slow or maybe she was over swamped but it would've been nice to have utensils to eat with, soy sauce for the sushi, etc. The sushi chefs were great and had fun, upbeat personalities, chatting amongst other diners. That's what gives a sushi restaurant character and soul! The chef also made complimentary squid salad for everyone in the restaurant to try, it was delicious!!! My favorite dish was the Agedashi Tofu, probably one of the best I've tasted around town. The deep fried pillows of tofu sit in a fragrant & very savory broth. They fry it well: the batter is thick & crunchy. It's the best of both worlds, crispy soaking up the juicy broth. But never soggy! It's garnished with shrimp & veggie tempura and finally, flakes of seaweed & bonito. AMAZING! I've already daydreamed of coming back just to only eat this dish alone...

I hadn't been here in a while so decided to try it again. Chef Kenji is amazing and super friendly. When you watch him work you can tell that he is obviously very skilled. The nigiri was amazingly fresh. We had toro, salmon, maguro, and ankimo. The pieces of fish were very generous with just a bit of rice. They prepare their rice with cabbage so it has a slight pink tinge to it. I like that they also offer brown or black rice as well. We also had a yummy crunchy roll that was very flavorful. I can't wait to go back here.

This is my Fav sushi restaurant! I come enough, my husband doesn't like sushi. It's always a great shop to eat sushi and catch up with friends. Today we got the red bull roll and mill creek roll. Both were so tasty! I chose the red bull roll because there were little onion crisps on it and it was so yummy! My cousin chose the Mill creek roll because she wanted Shrimp Tempura. We also got Miso soup and enjoyed some edamame beans. It was such a satisfying meal. I will always come back!

Some of the worst sushi I've ever had. $30 price tag wasn't even close to what I'd expect. I had three different kind of rolls. Tasteless! There is much better out there. Plus the place is dirty and you don't feel safe eating sushi there. Just my warning, do with it what you like haha

    (1)
  • Andy B.

This is a sushi eaters golden nugget. Small but super attentive staff and Kyung serving killer sushi behind the bar. The fish is some of the freshest you can get and he has more than the usual variety as well. I hit this place up every time I visit the Seattle area- worth a visit any night!

    (5)
  • James W.

Relatively expensive for the amount of food you get. Also during my time there we ordered their sake and there was a bug in it. Moreover the service was poor, and they decided to wait until after my meal to tell me that I couldn't use my groupon. Which now I will never use because I won't be going back.

    (1)
  • Alexa B.

My dad got his usual sushi plate & the menu said $35 & they charged him over $100 for just his meal. They said the price went up & he freaked out & they didn't really care. Won't go back.

Truly great food! Just be see you go in with an appetite! Their unique flair truly makes this place worth your trip. This place is really great for those who haven't tried raw sashimi before and prefer cooked fish. Their baked dishes are amazing and I can't wait to go back.

  • Sara p.

Pros: lots of parking, good service, fresh Cons: ambience is a little bit "suburban strip mall" considering that this is supposed to be a nicer restaraunt. I believe this place is owned by the same people as Wasabi Bistro in Belltown. As such, their menu is reliably good and their ingredients are fresh. hostess greeting and seating was pretty quick and i have no complaints on server attentiveness. one cool thing was that sashimi arrived on a plate that looked like glass at first, but it was actually made of molded ice.

Love their Super pilly roll :) , Really friendly waitresses & waiters, was greeted when I came in with my significant. Not really a fan of their sushi but its definitely worth a try, because the taste is different from other sushi places.

This is the second time we've been here since the change of management. For starters the ediname was partially frozen both times. Today they offered a groupon. Either 2 people for $20 or 4 for $40. As we have three people in our family we bought the $40 option. They wouldn't honor it. We needed a fourth person despite buying the more expensive option. I could have invited a stranger off the street to sit at our table and not eat and they would have been fine with it. "Rules are rules" the manager said. We still ordered three rolls as we were here and hungry. They may be delicious but our mood is ruined by their draconian rules and horrendous customer service. The place used to be our favorite but just hasn't been the same since Kyoung left as head chef (FYI he can be found at Wasabi Bistro in Seattle. We will go there next time).

Hell yes this place is good....if your tired of the same old thing, they have lots of creative ideas. Put them to the test and ask them to just put something together for you. ....your gonna love it!!!

I'm disappointed to say it, but I had an awful experience here. I went in with a friend, stood at the front for 15 minutes and was not acknowledged once. THREE waitresses stood at the cash register and as soon as they made eye contact with me they would look away or walk away. I asked for service and NOTHING! They looked past me as if they didn't hear me. I left and went down the street to N'joy sushi. I'd much rather pay higher prices than eat somewhere that doesn't value customer service.

Wasabi Bay is now under new management. Not as good as before. Ordered the salmon sushi and we could see light through the sush, it was so thin. Also ordered the crazy medusa, it wasn't as tight as it used to be.

This is our sushi joint of choice when visiting the Mill Creek area. The black rice option is awesome, the sushi is consistently good and the atmosphere is pleasant. We usually skip the long menu and just check out the specials board or request our usual favs: tempura roll, rainbow roll and their awesome Miso soup.

Absolutely FANTASTIC! "There's a new chef in town"...no really, a new Sushi Chef. We were greeted with cheerful and happy staff who truly act like they like their career and cared about our well being! The new sushi chef was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! His creations were spactacular to say the least. My wife and I are fairly new to the sushi scene, but our chef assured us that we would be better off with NO MENU! We were not dissapointed! Do not pass up a chance to go to Wasabi Bay. If you are looking at this Yelp review, then you are looking for a good, fun place to go and THIS IS IT!! Thanks for upping the bar WASABI BAY!

I have been here 4 times, twice for lunch, twice for dinner. All 4 times, the tea was luke warm and when I asked for hot tea, it came back the same. Service was very good and friendly, however, if they are crowded at dinner time, 2 servers cannot possibly cover every table effectively. Our food has been a mixed review, the first 2 times was good for entree items, but the sushi rice was unseasoned. I wanted badly to love this place due to the nice servers but the sushi was not to my liking.

Nice clean little spot. Huge selection of delicious rolls - lots of fun and unique flavors to try. We've eaten here a few times, are pretty discerning about our sushi and find this place to be fabulous. Service is also great. :)

Went here for dinner last month. It was so-so. The house sake is nasty, and I'm not all that picky. Set your throat on fire, wish for glass of toilet water to remove the burn nasty. The sushi was small, but that was OK since it wasn't very good. I've had better sushi from the deli section of my local market. Service was half baked too. I don't like it when they hover, but I don't like to be forgotten either. I won't bother to return. The only pluses were 1) we didn't get food poisoning 2) it looks kid friendly (except for the slow service).

This is my absolute favorite sushi place north of seattle. When I moved north from Greenlake, I was sad after trying a couple of the sushi places in Mill Creek Town Center. But then we found Wasabi Bay! I have been here many times, and have never been disappointed. Delicious, fresh, and friendly staff. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. So happy it's only a few minutes from my house!

I really enjoyed going to Wasabi Bay. I was looking for something that wasn't so heavy like the 5 guys burger. After driving around the area, my girlfriend mentioned that there was a great sushi, so we decided to check it out. The decore there was pretty nice. We happen to go during happy hour, so they had a special on hot sake for 2.99 for the first large bottle. They also had a deal on their rolls for $18. You could choose from a couple different ones. The one that I decided to go with was the Seattle roll, Belltown Roll, and the Spider roll. I really enjoyed getting the belltown roll. It has scallops and salmon, I think the Spider roll could of been more fresh/hot, but It was enjoyable. Service was great. I would definitely come back again, if I am ever in the area and craving sushi.

The food here is very bad. The edamame seemed to be frozen and was extremely salty. The sushi was downright horrible. It was cold and had absolutely no flavor. The ingredients didn't seem fresh. You can get better, cheaper sushi from Central Market down the street. Customer service was very bad as well. Our main server was very nice and sweet, but the other looked annoyed or mad the entire time. We had a complaint about the order and the manager wouldn't come out to address it. I strongly suggest you avoid this place and try somewhere else for sushi/Japanese food

The uni was amazing! Not to mention the salmon sashimi and udon. This is a great sushi spot that is close to home. Highly recommended!

We just discovered this place a few weeks ago and we have been back three times already. This really surprised me because my wife does not like sushi places. We consider this the best restaurant we have ever been to. The service is tremendous, the food out of this world and the prices are reasonable. The only drawback that I am aware of is that the place is small and it is becoming very popular. The salmon skin salad is die for.

Came in for an early dinner on Sunday night and stumbled upon their sushi happy hour. $3.95 for a large Saki, $6 Sushi combos, $10 deep fried sushi rolls. We ended up ordering a Wasabi plate which came with 6 pieces of nigiri and a spider roll. We also got the happy hour combo (chicken skewers + seattle roll). The sushi tasted good and fresh. I can see the negative response to the service since there is only one waitress/hotess but since there was only 3 other table with patrons. She manage to get my water filled and came back on numerous occasions asking if we enjoyed our meal. All in all, the service was pretty good. I would definitely come back to try the lunch special and more of the happy hour sushi deals.

I love wasabi bay. The service is always amazing. I was originally disappointed when I saw that it was under new management, but I haven been nothing but impressed! I highly recommend the tuna tower! Absolutely delicious.

I am a huge sushi snob, having my favorite sushi joints in Bellevue and Seattle. I was a little worried when a friend suggested Wasabi Bay in Mill Creek... I was like "sushi in Mill Creek? Hmmmm." The prices were fair and my sushi roll, which I can't remember what it was, was huge! So stinkin long, like the longest sushi roll on the planet. It was decent tasting, not great, decent. My friends roll was better but also more expensive. The service was horribly slow... I was late back to work by about 20 minutes which was a bit lame.

I took out my cousin to this place after we heard it was supposed to be a good spot for sushi. Being a California native and having gone to many great places for sushi, this place didn't amaze me at all. We just made it for their lunch special where we could pick an appetizer and an additional dish. I got the udon and the Seattle role and my cousin got the gyoza and the California roll. I thought the udon was pretty good. The sushi itself was lacking and plain. The gyoza and CA roll was ok as well. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're a sushi nut like I am.

Delicious sushi and great service! I'm so glad friend took me to Wasabi Bay! 3 of us went here for dinner last night and ordered a TON of food. We asked the waitress what her favorite rolls were and then ordered all of them! The fish had lots of flavor but was not overpowering or too strong. Everything was just right. Our favorite was probably the Margarete roll. Perfect blend of spice and flavor! The prices seemed a bit high but hell, most sushi places are so that didn't bother us. I can't wait to go back for more!

If I knew I had a few days to live, I'd make sure I eat Wasabi Bay sushi as many times as I can. This little unassuming place in a strip mall is as good as sushi gets. My hard-to-please sushi lover friends and I have been going here for a long time. We have been spoiled. We tried to find a place to top Wasabi Bay all over the Puget Sound but we haven't succeeded. The bottom line is their fish is always fresh. The presentation is meticulous. I love their geoduck butter yaki and never miss it when available. Even their tuna is better than tuna you get elsewhere. The lunch menu is great because you can customize your order with many things at a reasonable price. Sushi isn't for take-out. It's to be enjoyed as fresh as possible. These guys really know sushi.

First off, I will say that I recognize other yelpers complaints of poor service. When we first walked in, no one acknowledged us, and we stood there waiting for far too long. I almost walked out, but we were finally greeted and seated. After this little bump, the rest of my experience was smooth sailing. I probably wouldn't have even thought to ever eat here, but I happened to be in Mill Creek that day and was craving some sushi. The interior is nice. I wouldn't call it upscale, but for being in a strip mall, it had a classier feel than I expected. My dining partner and I decided to share a large plate of sushi that was a lunch special. $10.00 got us an ichi roll, a seattle roll, and a salmon roll. I can't recall which was which, but one had salmon, cream cheese; was covered in panko and fried. The other had eel cream cheese, and avacado and had a tempura batter. The last had raw salmon, roe and avocado. The special also came with a small salad and some miso soup. I was amazed at how large the portions were. The three rolls were so delicious and filled the two of us up. I thought the salmon and the eel tasted very fresh, and honestly the best I've had to date. I'm looking forward to going back and trying some other rolls. Hopefully service will be better and I'll have another tasty experience.

No offense to the north end here (plus I live here), but the selections of restaurants is sparse - bordering on dismal. Sure you have tons of mediocre chains to pick from, but I am talking about nice independent restaurants with interesting fresh tasty food. That is why it is nice to have Wasabi Bay here. Great interesting, delicious rolls and nice atmosphere. Thank you Wasabi Bay for being a great place to go in the North end.

We walked in at about 5pm during happy hour, and we were seated right away. We chose a bunch of food off the happy hour menu, everything was good and fresh, then ordered some sashimi and nigiri, and everything was super fresh. It's close to home, and offers some of the freshest fish in the north end.

We had a good first experience here. The service was a bit slow (they were busy) but friendly, we felt very welcome. We ordered dumplings with mushrooms which were outstanding, and 3 kinds of roll which were good - not the very best, but very tasty. I did feel that the quantity of eel in the eel roll could have been more generous - we could barely taste it. The complimentary edamame was a nice touch, and tasty. One tip - on a cold night, dress warm! The heat level inside is not exactly toasty. Once we had our miso soups, we started to warm up, but we spent 15 minutes or so with our jackets still on. We will definitely go back for their happy hour, which looks like a good deal.

This place is terrible! The fish is not fresh and the service stinks like the elephant exhibit at the zoo. I ordered the Wasabi Bay sushi combo plate, it comes with 4 or 5 pieces of nigiri and a roll. I got the "Seattle Roll" - salmon with avocado and cucumber. The salmon consisted of salmon trimmings!!! I pulled a few pieces of salmon out from the roll after eating a bit and realizing that the salmon seemed to be very chewy. The pieces I pulled out of the roll were fibrous and fatty.

This place is awful! The fish is not fresh. My table was dirty and there was food on the floor in several spots. You would have to be drunk to like this place or you don't know Sushi.

They have a $10 lunch special and I always have the Roll Lover's Combo. The Las Vegas Roll with the eel is good. It is a lot of food for $10 dollars. After a the glass of water hits the rice in my belly and expands I need a nap... This place advertises Modern Japanese Fusion but I think it should read Big Plate of Japanese Average. I'll be back in 6months.

I eat sushi about once a week and this is one place I head to when I don't feel like going into Seattle. They have a great happy hour, the fish is fresh and I always leave satisfied.

Lunch specials are great bang for your buck. I go for lunch and get the "Roll Lover's combo". You choose from a select menu of sushi rolls and get 3 for around $13 with miso soup or salad. Good quality fish and very filling. I have frequented many times and will again. Service can be a bit slow during lunch hour when they get busy... but usually are pretty decent. Nice quiet environment. One downfall is that it shares a restroom with the chinese restaurant that is next door.... kinda' strange, but it works ok...

I work across the way so i decided to try it out. I see so many people go in during lunch hour. Well its decent for lunch i would have to say. I had the Edam me to start and ordered the Yummy Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and Belltown Roll. I liked the everything except the Spicy Tuna Roll.. It was really mushy. Usually the Tuna is a little more chunky or more meat to it.But this place pureed the heck out of it. I would go back for lunch from time to time but never for dinner or special occasions. The service wasn't so bad either, they were pretty good at making sure we had water.

Man. I can't believe this place still has a license to serve food!! I have eaten sushi for 30 years and the fish they serve at Wasabi Bay is NOT FRESH. Bad service, too!

I have to agree with the others, the fish here is less than super fresh. Whenever there's a "fishy" taste, you just know it's been sitting there a tad too long. We went for dinner, and there was only one server for the entire restaurant. This didn't worry us as there was only one other occupied table and two men at the sushi bar. When we placed our order, we were indecisive and started with a few items, as one never knows how quickly you'll fill up on sushi. Our server told us this was no problem, that the evening was slow and we could order more later. She was very friendly but it was surprising how difficult it was at times to get her attention for water refills, etc. Yes, the service was slow. We did enjoy the complimentary edamame and my fiance entertained himself by swishing it around in his water glass since they appeared to have been attacked by sea salt, and we finished our beers long before we saw our food. That other table had left while we were still waiting, and the folks at the bar were just drinking, based on what I could see, but all we could do was wait, and so we did, and the time eventually passed. Despite the aforementioned fishy-taste issue, we were still hungry and contemplating ordering one more sushi item when the server informed us it was "last call" for the sushi bar. I can't say I've ever had that happen before. She had reassured us when we first ordered that we could order more later, but because it took so long to get our order we were now told to hurry up for last call. Not cool. Especially when within minutes of being told this two more people entered the restaurant and were seated for dinner. What's up with that? I give it two stars for two reasons: 1) the unexpected treat of calamari! It was an appetizer, perhaps the only decently priced item on the menu, and it was delicious! The tentacles were long and meaty, it was prepared fried- barely, and not the least bit greasy: and the "breading" was very spare, with much of the flesh visible, not suffocating under an oily crust. The wasabi tartar sauce was tasty, and the little salad served as garnish was wonderful, too. 2) Atmosphere-wise, once you step inside, you'd never guess you were in a restaurant in a strip mall- no windows overlooking the parking lot, and the dining area had an unusual shape. Not sure I'd go back for the sushi, but I can see carry-out calamari in my future!

Favorite local sushi spot! Very friendly and appreciative of their loyal customers. Their rolls are original and great! Pink Volcano and Red Bull rolls are my favs! When I was pregnant, their tempura ice cream was my "HAD TO HAVE FOOD!" Thankfuly I can have it after my sushi now!

A solid 4. Not the best I have ever had, but this far north of downtown it was good. Both time I have been here I ate at the sushi bar and had good service. Interesting rolls and fish was ok. Would recommend.

so, i looooved this place. always went here for lunch when i wanted some really good (and affordable) sushi. recently, however, i started getting REALLY bad service. VERY understaffed. every time i eat here, i have to get up and refill my own water--about 4 times. and we have to walk up to the front with our money at the end, because it takes forever to get the bill. the other week was the last straw: while eating my pre-sushi salad, I look down only to notice, right on top of a huge bite of lettuce i was about to put into my mouth, there was a fatty fly -- IN MY SALAD. Okay, that's fine. No problem. This sort of thing happens all the time. Right? I calmly try to get the waitress' attention. After about four minutes of waving my arms in a feeble attempt to get the waitresses attention, i stand up and head her way, plate and salad (and bug) in tow. She apologizes for taking so long to get to me, and i point the bug out to her. All i get is, 'oh, sorry' as she takes the plate into the back to show her co-workers. I return to the bar where the sushi chef, returning from where the wait staff has now gathered to examine my special salad 'garnish', says to me in a tone as though this is all MY fault, "This happened because we only use organic lettuce. It's fresh and healthy. The other lettuce is sprayed with pesticides, and we don't want pesticides in our salads." Well, guess what? I DON'T WANT BUGS IN MY SALAD! i could hardly believe it. Sitting, mouth agape, the waitress returns with a fresh plate of lettuce (mind you from the same tub that the old lettuce (and bug) came out of), before heading back to refilling patrons' water glasses. Definitely made me rethink my order of raw tuna and cucumber. i must say, though... the sushi is amazing. the chef(s) there really know what they are doing. it's just unfortunate that their service is so poor--and i've only ever been for lunch. i'm terrified to see how it gets after 7pm at night!

i was out for a lunch date in an unusually warm February afternoon in the NW. the ducks could be heard at a near by pond as i made my way to the door. when i walked in i was greeted by smiles and we made our way to the bar area. we looked over the lunch menu and for $12 we got the 2 foot roll with three choices we selected the spicy yellotail, spicy tuna, and ichi roll.everything was good not much meat in the tuna roll. spicy yellowtail more than made up for it with the light red spicy sauce covering the top wow it was good there was about 25 pcs. not bad on a non happy hour price. I recommend this place for lunch, and the happy hour is amazing for groups and dates a like. the combo came with a small mixed green salad with a light wasabi vin. it lacked some color, A few shredded carrots would have gave it some life, it was just lettuce and a wet vin. overall ill be back they treat you right and give you fresh fish. a place that is easily caught behind the race to get starbucks or go to central market in mill creek. you wont be disappointed in your detour if you stop at Wasabi bay -DY

Good sushi, rather large. Nice set of small plates, but the amount of food on the plates are small in comparison to the price. In other words, I think it is too high a price for the amount of food. Despite that, I like this place. Good food. Quiet location. Good service. I'll be back.

I've eaten here a dozen or so times and every time I have the same good dining experience. The fish is always decently fresh, the service is attentive and friendly and the price tag always affordable. I'd say give this place a try.

I just read the reviews this restaurant got and I see how varied they are which makes me think that its quality of service and food is inconsistent. But I'll tell you where it's pretty consistent - price! This is one of the few places that sticks to the lower end of the price tag and this is why I highly recommend it for anyone who cares about the wallet and absolutely can't go on without having Japanese at least twice a week (and that would be me!) Was I lucky that each time I went there for lunch (notice - I've never been there for dinner) the food was pretty tasty, and fish was decent (there are places where I've had worse, and places I've had better)? Perhaps, however, I've been there at least 5 times in the last couple of months so maybe it was more than that. I find myself quite sensitive to the way the places where I dine look, and so I must add this one is not only clean but pretty nicely set up. As I often go there for lunch with my friends (since it's so affordable), we like to sit towards the back where the table is very large, and it has quite a bit of privacy. Well, I guess I should mention something about the service there too... One word - unmemorable (which I guess is better than memorable for the wrong reasons).

I ate there last night and the Ikura definitely tasted like it had gone "off." It was clearly not fresh, and I spit it out immediately and nearly vomited. The sushi chef insisted that it was good but wouldn't eat any when I suggested she try it herself. The waiter started talking about how Ikura is for sophisticated palates, and maybe that's why I didn't like it. I've enjoyed Ikura for 25 years at sushi bars all over the world, and I know good Ikura when I taste it. Wasabi Bay serves fish that is not fresh!

Tasty sushi and large portions for the price. My guy and I had an appetizer, two fancier rolls and beers for less than $40. The place wasn't too busy on a Sunday evening and the service was fine. I'd definitely go again.

  • Becky R.

What can I say, the sushi here was truly flavorless. I've never had such bland sushi. The prices were a bit steep and the staff was NOT that friendly, not rude, but not outgoing either. One thing, if you don't care about flavor, portions are big. Give it a shot, maybe I had it on a bad day. Either way, I'll never risk it again. Too much money and it put me off sushi for a year.
